A country sharing the languages and culture of neighbouring France, Germany and Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a beautiful destination at any time of year.
Based in the small town of Vianden, a beautiful town in Luxembourg, we have some free time to stroll around. Visit the Orange Castle which overlooks the town and offers great views down the Our valley. We visit the wine cellars of Bernard-Massard in the nearby town of Grevenmacher. We will enjoy a guided tour of the cellars before some included tastings. We will also visit the capital city of Luxembourg, Luxembourg City, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In the evenings we will enjoy 2 live music nights in the hotel.

Itinerary

Day One – UK to Vianden
From your departure point travel to Hythe Interchange and join your main tour coach for the channel crossing to Calais. We then continue our journey to the Grand Hotel, Vianden.

Day Two – Luxembourg City
Enjoy an excursion to Luxembourg City, capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Stroll through the Petrusse Gorge or the old town and see the remains of one of the most imposing fortresses in Europe. Visit the Casemates; underground tunnels cut deep into the rocks. Admire the Ducal Palace or wander the cobbled streets with their shops, bars and restaurants. (B,D)

Day Three – Vianden and wine tasting
Enjoy a leisurely morning exploring Vianden. Stroll around the lovely town, located on the banks of the River Our, or visit the famous Orange Castle perched high above the town. In the afternoon, drive to Grevenmacher, the ‘Wine City of Luxembourg Moselle’ for a visit to the Caves Bernard-Massard vineyard. (B,D)

Day Four – En route Lille
We say goodbye to Luxembourg and retrace our steps towards Northern France. Enjoy a visit to Lille on the way before we overnight in France. (B,D)

Day Five – France to UK
On the last day of our holiday, we travel to Calais for our Channel crossing and onward journey home. (B)

Enjoy a guided tour of the cellars of Bernard-Massard understanding how they make their champagne. After we will enjoy a tasting of different varieties of champagne.
