This morning, we visit the market town of Bakewell. Set in the Peak District and known for its Bakewell pudding, the town sits along the banks of the River Wye. You can explore this quaint town and do a spot of Christmas shopping before we continue to Chatsworth House.
On arrival, there is plenty of time to explore the stunning house itself, before heading to the 105-acre garden to enjoy the light trail. Every festive season Chatsworth House never fails to impress with it’s wonderful, Christmas-themed display. You will be mesmerised as you walk through beautifully decorated rooms, each one, a sight to behold. You truly feel the magic of Christmas here at Chatsworth!
We return to our hotel for dinner this evening.
We travel to Derby station by coach, where we board our steam train to York. Sit back and relax in the comfort of your Pullman Class seats as you are served a tasty hot breakfast to your table. At the end of this delightful journey, we steam into York station in style.
There is free time to explore the ever-popular York Christmas Markets along with all the delicious sights and smells from the various stalls. Later this afternoon, we return to the station to re-board the train and relax once again.
On the return journey, you will enjoy a 4-course meal served to your table as the train makes its way back to Derby station. On arrival, our coach transfers us back to our hotel this evening.
After a leisurely breakfast, it is time to check out and depart the hotel for home.
