Verona is one of Italy’s most romantic cities, thanks to the fact that Shakespeare chose this city to set his romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet.
While the couple were purely fictional, there are many attractions which claim by local legend to have once set the scene for Romeo and Juliet. For example, there’s Juliet’s House, where we’ll find the balcony Romeo is said to have serenaded his love, as well as the Basilica di San Zeno where the two were supposedly married in secret. There’s also Juliet’s tomb, which is said to be located within San Francesco al Corso church.
Aside from this, there are many other attractions to enjoy in Verona, such as the Piazza delle Erbe, which was once the site of the Roman Forum in the city, and Lamberti Tower.
There’s a Roman Theatre and Archaeological Museum to enjoy as well, and the impressive Verona Cathedral.

Although the journey there was long and arduous once there it was a fantastic area to visit, we had an excursion every day and were exhausted by the end of the week and looking forward to getting home which would take another 2 days. The hotel we were staying at (villa Mulino) was in the middle of Garda it’s self, the hotel has lots of facilities inc a pool, jacuzzi, pool and table tennis tables outside which would be great in the summer, The staff are fabulous the food was good especially if you like pasta, there is a fridge and mini bar in your room, the only negative was there is no tea making facilities in the room or complimentary water but there is a supermarket behind the hotel up the hill by the coach park where you can by groceries cheaply inc water(1.5ltrs for 26cnts) All in all a great holiday, nicer weather would have made it fantastic

Exceptional drivers (Tristan & Craig), whose kindness and great sense of humour made the journey a pleasure. Great hotel (Villa Mulino). This is my fourth stay, and as always, the staff were beyond helpful, and the food excellent. Garda is a great centre, and the visits to Venice, Verona, and elsewhere make this one of Shearings' best options. Highly recommended!

Lake Garda and the whole local area are wonderful and must places to see I cannot recommend it enough and are looking forward to going back very soon. Although the trip down on the coach is long the scenery if using the day choice can be spectacular and this and on our entire trip was made that little bit extra special by our wonderful friendly and cheerful driver’s Tristan and Craig. Thank you Shearings for arranging this trip and giving the options of seeing so many amazing places but also for letting us choose our own free time as we wanted it when there.
