Make your own way to our hotel in Skipton, where you meet an experienced Tour Manager and enjoy a relaxing evening with dinner.
Today, we enjoy a return journey on the Settle-Carlisle Railway where you can sit back and admire the scenery from both directions. The line pays testament to the ingenuity of 19th-century railway engineers as it travels over 72 miles through the North Pennines, Eden Valley and Yorkshire Dales, crossing 19 viaducts and passing through 14 tunnels. The Ribblehead viaduct is a particular highlight, with 24 arches and a highest point of 32 metres.

Excellent hotel, lovely location. Alterations to itinerary as road subsidence, tour rep worked well to sort all this for us. Dissapointed that one dream train excursion was booked in diesel gala week, so no steam available

Extremely well organised , our guide Brian Cross was excellent over coming every hitch to ensure all went well. Even arranged for a packed lunch one day to ensure we had time to visit Howarth. The hotel was excellent cannot fault the staff especial the young people in the restaurant. Choice of evening meal was varied and the buffet breakfast always fresh. Delicious croissants!
