This delightful short break will give you an insight into the diversity of Holland. Join us as we make the most of a relaxing break to Zeist, located near Utrecht, and enjoy three included excursions to explore the local area and take in wonderful sights. We’ll see Amsterdam, spend time in Delft and The Hague, and explore Gouda.
We’ll visit the colourful capital of Amsterdam, criss-crossed by canals and bridges, as well as the stylish city of The Hague, with its modern skyline and historical centre. Away from the hustle and bustle, we’ll also discover charming Delft, famous for its blue and white pottery, and will visit pretty Gouda, known for its bustling cheese market, where we enjoy a tasting of local cheese.
Day One - UK to Zeist
We’ll make our way from the UK to Zeist, via Calais, where we’ll stay at the Oud London Hotel for the next four nights.
Day Two to Four - Zeist
We’ll have a great time, with excursions to Delft, The Hague, Amsterdam and Gouda to make the most of. (B,D)
Day Five - Zeist to UK
Time to say goodbye today; we depart Zeist and travel back to the UK via Calais. (B)

Full Day: Amsterdam
As Holland’s capital city, Amsterdam is guaranteed to be a fantastic place to visit during our New Year break. The city is famous for its expansive canal system and many bridged islands, for which it’s earned the name ‘Venice of the North’. This bustling city will be a highlight on our holiday, as it is absolutely packed with things to do.
The Museum Square, or ‘Museumplein’, is home to some of the most significant museums in the city, such as the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and Stedelijk Museum. All three are well worth touring in our spare time in the city, and there’s also the Anne Frank House and the Civic Guards Gallery, as well as many other exhibits and sights.
Full Day: Delft and The Hague
We visit historical Delft, famous for its blue and white pottery, with a labyrinth of canals, fairy-tale shaped bridges and beautiful painted gables. Enjoy time to explore at leisure here, before we make our way to The Hague. This city is home of the Dutch royal family and is the site of the international Court of Justice, in the famous Peace Palace. With more time to explore here, this is sure to make for a memorable excursion.
Gouda and Cheese Tasting
For many, the city of Gouda is most well-known due to the cheese which originated here. Gouda cheese is famous for its smoky flavour, and we’ll get to sample some of this delicious cheese while we’re in the city. We will visit a local cheese museum, learning more about how Gouda cheese is produced, as well as taking a guided walking tour of the city so we can admire the local sights.
Admire the stunning floral displays at Keukenhof Gardens with seven themed gardens. Set in a park intersected by canals and lakes, the world's greatest flower show draws huge spring crowds to its lines of tulips, hyacinths and daffodils. Stroll through a carpet of diverse colours and scents, admiring the handiwork of a dedicated team of horticulturalists.
Amsterdam Guided City Tour
This city of Amsterdam is transformed with an array of twinkling lights by night, as the city is illuminated along the canals and with the bright lights of the buildings. There’s nothing better than seeing a city come to life, and this is when we’ll really see this happen in Amsterdam. Come with us on an optional excursion as we explore Amsterdam by night.

Join us as we further explore the stylish city of The Hague, known for its amazing skyline and mixture of modern and historical buildings. Take in the splendid architecture this city is famous for as we learn more about its history.
