Full Day: Bergamo
Bergamo can be found in Lombardy, situated in the foothills of the Alps and with a wonderful atmosphere that combines the city’s heritage with its modern attitude. There’s so much to do here - Bergamo boasts two centres, the Upper City (Citta alta) and the Lower City (Citta bassa). In the Upper City we’ll find Bergamo’s history, with the 14th-century Citadel, Bergamo Cathedral and numerous museums.
In the Lower City, we’ll discover Bergamo’s cosmopolitan heart. Here, there’s an art gallery dedicated to modern and contemporary art, as well as an excellent shopping district ideal for buying souvenirs and gifts.
Full Day: Lake Maggiore
Lake Maggiore is another of the famous Italian lakes and is perfect for those who simply cannot get enough of this beautiful scenery. The lake is known for being the second largest of all the lakes in Italy, and is famous for its superb climate which allows a wide assortment of flora to grow. We’ll visit Lake Maggiore during our holiday and will be able to relax by the lakeshore for an entire day.
Full Day: St Moritz
Sit back and relax during our drive through amazing scenery, travelling to the exclusive Swiss resort of St Moritz. Thought of as the home of Alpine tourism, St Moritz is a favourite with numerous celebrities and royals. Take in the views over Lake St Moritz, stroll along the lakeshore, or go shopping in the town centre.
Bergamo Guided Walking Tour
Explore Bergamo more with our optional guided walking tour, including a ride on the funicular railway.
Experience a once in a lifetime journey on the Bernina railway, travelling from St Moritz and taking in breath-taking mountain scenery. Sit back and relax as we make our way over peaks and passes, soaking in the mesmerising views.
The unique Borromean Islands, located off the coast of Stresa, are a highly popular feature of the Italian Lakes. We’ll take the time to explore the wonderful Isola Bella, with its ornate royal palace and gardens, and will also enjoy entrance into the palace itself.
Undoubtedly the most famous of the Borromean Islands, Count Vitaliano Borromeo began the transformation in 1662 with the construction of the palace and the ornamental gardens.
The palace is full of ornate rooms, which are sure to remind you of a past full of grand receptions and sumptuous feasts. The most curious part of the palace is its grottoes; the walls are adorned with a mosaic of shells and pebbles and are a welcome retreat on a hot day!
We’ll also look forward to a visit to the island’s small fishing village, Isola Pescaton.
Half Day: Chiavenna
With its interesting history, splendid town squares, intricate palaces and amazing setting encapsulated by dramatic mountains, Chiavenna is not to be missed. We’ll spend a short while here to explore at leisure, taking in the historical architecture which has been perfectly paired with its traditional atmosphere.

An optional excursion to the bustling town of Como, with its old streets, to sample the atmosphere, products and aromas of the weekly market.

Lake Lugano is famous for its mesmerising scenery, and we'll be able to soak up these beautiful vistas during our fantastic optional lake cruise. Sit back, relax, and admire the splendour of this location.
Half Day: Lugano
Lugano is one of the most popular lakeside cities in Switzerland. Named after the lake it sits on the banks of, Lugano is famous for its bustling atmosphere, amazing attractions and - of course - stunning location.
In Lugano, we’ll find narrow cobblestone streets lined with boutiques and excellent little shops where we can purchase souvenirs and mementos of our time here. We’ll also be able to take advantage of the many pavement cafes with superb views out over the lake, so we can admire the scenery here.
