There’s more than enough to do in Malgrat de Mar as well, with lots of things to see and do. We’ll have lots of free time available as well, and so we’ll be able to visit some of the best attractions in the resort at leisure.
The town is home to a number of well-known monuments, such as the Church of St Nicolau, the old fish market, El Castell and the Ca l'Arnau, as well as many others. We’ll be able to find some stunning beaches in Malgrat de Mar, too, which are the main draw for a lot of visitors. The central beach, L'Astillero beach and Tordera Mouth beach will all provide us with sunbathing spots to enjoy a fun break in the sun.
Day One: UK to Malgrat de Mar
We’ll fly from the UK to Spain and will transfer to the Hotel Monteplaya for our 14-night stay. (D)
Days Two to Fourteen: Malgrat de Mar
We'll spend the following 13 days in wonderful Malgrat de Mar, enjoying our time here and making the most of our days relaxing in the sunshine. You will have the option of joining some fantastic excursions including the city of Barcelona, Girona, the medieval town of Besalu and a local market in Blanes. (B,L,D)
Day Fifteen: Malgrat de Mar to UK
We’ll transfer to the airport and fly back to the UK, before continuing home. (B)

The Hotel Sumus Monteplaya has been upgraded ready for the 2017 season to a 4 star superior adults only hotel. The hotel is a popular choice, ideally located close to Malgrat’s old town and opposite the beach. Barcelona Sightseeing Tour
Discover some of Barcelona’s very best attractions and landmarks during our exciting sightseeing tour, so you can see more of this incredible city. Drive through the city and learn more about the Catalonian capital’s interesting history while admiring its beautiful sights. From Gaudi’s famous architecture to the city’s bustling shopping districts and historical attractions, we’ll get to explore further with our sightseeing tour.
Barcelona Fountains By Night
One of Barcelona’s main attractions is the Magic Fountain of Montjuic. This fantastic fountain can be found in the Montjuic neighbourhood and is located below the elegant steps up to the Palau Nacional on Montjuic hill.
In the evenings, this fountain is transformed into a magnificent light and water show, with music to accompany this spectacular performance.

The Catalan capital, Barcelona is a fantastic city to explore at leisure, with its wonderful architecture and bustling atmosphere. Admire Antoni Gaudi’s incredible Modernist creations, including the as-yet-unfinished Sagrada Familia, and spend time shopping along the famous Las Ramblas boulevard.
This mesmerising city is known for its excellent attractions as much for its delicious cuisine, so be sure to sample some of the local food during our time here!
Besalu was an important town during the Middle Ages with its territory extending as far as France and being designated a historic national property by the Spanish government in 1966. The town is particularly famous for its 12th century bridge over the Fluvia River. It is a great place to wander through history with a number of buildings dating back almost 1000 years, still laid out in their original street configuration.
Girona is one of Catalonia’s major cities, and our trip here will be spent at leisure, so we can discover this excellent location to our hearts’ content. With lots of sights to enjoy, we’re sure to be kept busy during our visit!
There are the ancient city walls and towers, which mark the entrance to Girona’s Old Town, plus Girona Cathedral, dating from 1015. This cathedral is home to the world’s widest Gothic nave, although it isn’t the only prominent religious building in Girona - there’s also the Sant Pere de Galligants church, and the Collegiate Church of Sant Feliu.
Half Day: Local Market
We make our way to a fantastic local market to enjoy a wide variety of local specialties, available to sample and buy. With everything from freshly caught seafood to delicious fresh fruits and expertly crafted olive oils, we'll have a wonderful time at a traditional Spanish market.
