Salou, with its wonderful sea views and lovely beaches, makes for the ideal holiday destination. The city is situated on the Costa Dorada, which is known for its amazing coastlines and stunning scenery, and it certainly isn’t lacking in terms of things to do. There’s always something fun available, from relaxing on one of the city’s many beaches to enjoying a spot of sightseeing.
The city enjoys a host of historic buildings and monuments, such as the Church of Santa Maria del Mar, the monument to Jaume I and the Fountains of the Font lluminosa. As for beaches, we’re sure to be spoilt for choice as there’s the Llevant Beach, which runs alongside the main promenade of Passeig Jaume I, as well as Platja de Ponent, Platja dels Capellans, Platja Llarga and Cala Crancs.

While we’re in Salou, we’ll get to enjoy two exciting excursions, with the first taking us on a coastal drive along the Costa Dorada. This will give us a chance to better examine this lovely stretch of coastline. Our second excursion will be to the thrilling Cambrils Market, located just a short drive from Salou. There, we’ll get to buy all sorts of souvenirs, as well as picking up gifts for loved ones at home.

Note: For nine-day all inclusive coach tours staying at the Hotel Estival Park departing on or before 9th May 2015, Barcelona will be an included excursion as opposed to an optional excursion.

Itinerary

Day One - Depart UK
In the morning of day one, we’ll make the journey from the UK to Salou, which will see us travelling via Calais. From there, we’ll travel through the night on our overnight express coach to arrive at the Hotel Estival Park in Salou.

Day Two - Arrive in Salou
We arrive in Salou late morning and have time to settle into our hotel for our first night in-resort. (D)

Days Three to Seven - Salou
We'll spend another five days in wonderful Salou, enjoying two included excursions during our time there and making the most of our days relaxing in the sunshine. (B,L,D)

Day Eight - Depart Salou
As our holiday draws to a close, we’ll say goodbye to Salou and will travel to Calais. (B,L)

Day Nine - Arrive in UK
We’ll then return to the UK via Calais, and will take the coach back to our local joining points.

Hotel Estival Park

Situated in the La Pineda area of Salou, the Hotel Estival Park benefits from a quiet location, yet is close to the beach and promenade, bars and restaurants.

Full Day: Barcelona

Barcelona is the fourth most visited in city in Europe and is a lively and exciting place to discover.  Especially remarkable is the work of architect Antoni Gaudí, which can be seen throughout the city. His best-known work is the unfinished church of the Sagrada Família, which has been under construction since 1882.

Half Day: Cambrils Market

Cambrils, which is located just a short drive from Salou, is home to two excellent markets - its general market, selling food and other wares, and its antiques market, where shoppers can purchase all manner of interesting items. Situated in the Old Town, both of these markets are absolutely excellent, and we’ll get to tour them during this exciting excursion.

Barcelona Guided City Tour

Discover some of Barcelona’s very best attractions and landmarks during our exciting guided city tour, so you can see more of this incredible city. Our experienced guide will give us insights into the Catalonian capital’s interesting history. Admire the city’s famous sights, from Gaudi’s incredible architecture to the city’s bustling shopping districts and historical attractions.

Half Day: Reus

Reus is known for its wonderful selection of wines, as well as for being the birth-place of Antoni Gaudi, whose architectural masterpieces transformed the city of Barcelona. In Reus, admire the modernist architecture, visit the Gaudi Centre, and explore the town’s picturesque market square.

Half Day: Sitges

The cosmopolitan town of Sitges can be found just a short drive from Barcelona, and is famous for its excellent beaches. We’ll enjoy a short trip to this wonderful resort, where we’ll be able to explore its sandy beaches, or discover its bustling town centre. Sample some of the Sitges’ local cuisine at one of its restaurants, or enjoy some shopping at its many shops and boutiques.

Half Day: Tarragona and Evening Barcelona Fountains

We’ll make our way to Tarragona today, where we’ll find a number of historical sites, including churches from several different periods and a well preserved Roman colosseum. The town itself has the usual Spanish assortment of plazas, dotted with cafes and tapas bars.

After our time here, we’ll continue to the famous Magic Fountain of Montjuic in Barcelona. his fantastic fountain can be found in the Montjuic neighbourhood and is located below the elegant steps up to the Palau Nacional on Montjuic hill. In the evenings, this fountain is transformed into a magnificent light and water show, with music to accompany this spectacular performance.
