This lovely midweek break includes a stay in the Bay Esplanade hotel in the pretty coastal town of Paignton on the English Riviera. You'll travel by coach through the Dartmoor National Park to see the lovely towns of Princetown and Tavistock. On another excursion you'll spend a day exploring the pretty hidden gem of a town that is St Marychurch. With so much to see and do, and fantastic entertainment in your hotel each evening, you'll never be bored.

Itinerary

Day One - Home to Paignton
We’ll make our way from the interchange to Paignton, where we’ll check in to the Esplanade Hotel and will enjoy a sumptuous evening meal. (D)

Days Two To Four - Paignton
We’ll have a great time, with a scenic drive across Dartmoor to visit Princetown, the highest town on Dartmoor, and Tavistock. We will also enjoy an excursion to to the seaside village to St Marychurch then onto Bygones, a historical attraction with exhibits spanning from the Victorian Era through to the wartime Britain. Day Five - Paignton to Home
Time to say goodbye today; we depart after breakfast and make our way to the interchange before returning home. (B)

With fantastic views over nearby Paignton Beach and the centre of the town just a five minute walk away the Esplanade Hotel is the perfect location for a fantastic Cornish seaside holiday.

Paignton’s main beach is just a five minute walk from the hotel while Paignton Pier and quieter Goodrington Beach are both just a 10 minute walk away. The centre of the town has a number of great cafes, restaurants and bars selling fantastic and delicious food, great for relaxing and taking time out from a busy day of seaside fun, just a five minute walk from the hotel.

The town’s train station is a short walk away and from here you can reach the vibrant town of Torquay in 10 minutes and historic Exeter in less than an hour, driving times are similar. The station is also the start point for the Dartmouth steam railway, which will take you into the magnificent South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and along the River Dart to Dartmouth. The town is filled with beautiful pedestrianised streets, colourful houses and ancient churches with great views out across the river to the sea.

In the hotel you can enjoy delicious meals in the modern restaurant which operates a wide and varied menu. Enjoy evening entertainment in the Riviera Suite and for even greater comfort in your room as well as sea views over Tor Bay upgrade to a standard plus room.

Excursion   travelling across the wilds of Dartmoor National Park, by way of Princetown - the highest village on the moor, to reach the maritime city of Plymouth where we enjoy some free time to explore.

St Marychurch and Bygones

We take a short trip to the seaside village to St Marychurch, where we visit fascinating 'Bygones' and take a nostalgic journey to Victorian times along the period street and gain an insight into wartime Britain.
