Join us for a fantastic Christmas holiday to Tuscany, staying in the picturesque town of Chianciano. We’ll enjoy a superb festive break, making the most of celebrations at our hotel with our fellow holidaymakers over Christmas, as well as visiting the charming towns of Pienza and Siena, beautiful Florence, and discovering hidden Tuscany.
Tuscany is known for its landscapes and is regarded as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. This stunning region boasts a number of fantastic museums, such as the Uffizi Gallery and the Pitti Palace Museum and Art Gallery.
Chianciano is located on a small hill and is known for its elegant Renaissance gateway into the town. The modern town has grown around the thermal springs and is the perfect base for our relaxing Christmas holiday. We’ll stay at the Hotel Mizar, which is located close to the main square, Piazza Italia, and promises a warm, friendly welcome for all.
Our first included excursion will allow us to explore hidden Tuscany, as we take in its many hidden delights. We’ll make our way to the stunning Tuscan town of Cortona to admire its beautiful architecture and to learn more about its wonderful heritage.
On Christmas Eve, we’ll be treated to a great day out discovering the towns of Pienza and Siena, both of which are filled with excellent attractions. In the evening, sit down with your fellow holidaymakers to enjoy an exciting and sumptuous gala dinner.
Relax and make yourself at home on Christmas Day, as we celebrate with a festive Christmas lunch and a fantastic dinner. On Boxing Day, we’ll travel to Florence, famous for being the birthplace of the Renaissance. Take in the elegant charm of this splendid city during our time at leisure.

Full Day: Florence by Train
We’ll make the journey to Florence by train, which will provide us with an opportunity to admire the beautiful Italian scenery as we travel. We’ll then arrive in Florence and will have time to explore the area at leisure, with many different sights awaiting us.
For example, we’ll be able to look forward to seeing such landmarks as Florence Cathedral, the Piazza della Repubblica, the Loggia dei Lanzi, and the Palazzo della Signoria. This city is known for be the home of the renaissance movement, and so we can expect much in the way of beautiful architecture and amazing artwork, as well as lots of history to be found in its many museums.
Full Day: Pienza and Siena
We’ll have great day today, as we discover the historical towns of Pienza and Siena. In Pienza, we’ll find a beautiful Tuscan town - the town itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the valley it’s located within, the Val d'Orcia. Pienza features stunning landscapes and is a treat to explore.
Next, we’ll make our way the Siena. With the city’s historical centre a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this city is one of Italy’s most-visited tourist attractions and is famous for its beautiful attractions.
Half Day: Hidden Tuscany
Tuscany is filled with incredible sights, and we’ll delve into the region’s hidden delights today with an excursion to the town of Cortona. This beautiful Tuscan town has something for everyone, with its wonderful heritage, stunning medieval architecture and amazing atmosphere. Wander along the narrow streets, admire the pretty plazas and town squares, and why not visit some of the town’s many attractions?
The Museo dell'Accademia Etrusca has a fine collection of medieval and renaissance art, while the Diocesan Museum is famous for its artistic panels by the Italian renaissance painter Fra Angelico.
Guided Walking Tour of Florence
Learn more about this impressive city with our guided walking tour, which will allow us to see more of the amazing sights here. We’ll make our way through the city of Florence, accompanied by an experienced tour guide, who will give us insight into the history and heritage of this elegant city.
Guided Walking Tour of Pienza
During our time in Pienza, we’ll get to enjoy a fantastic guided walking tour to learn more about this picturesque town’s interesting history. We’ll also see some of the town’s most spectacular sights during our tour, such as the Palazzo Piccolomini, the cathedral, and the Palazzo Vescovile.

Siena is an amazing city, and we’ll get our chance to find out more about it during this guided walking tour. Filled with interesting insights and with lots of excellent attractions to take in, this tour will show us where the best sights are.
