Based in the small town of La Roche-en-Ardenne, we have a great base to explore the area. The town is overlooked by the Chateau de la Roche, dating back to the 9th Century. The Floreal Hotel is a perfect base, located on the banks of the River Ourthe and only 900 yards from the picturesque town centre. Our excursions take us to Durbuy, the self proclaimed smallest town on earth. It is a stunning village in the rolling hills. The Belgian Ardennes is home to many chateaux and gardens and we visit two of the best in the region. Jardins d’Annevoie has over 20 ornamental ponds and lakes with waterfalls. Freyr Castle and Gardens is on the banks of the river Meuse and has a walled, terraced garden in the style of Le Notre.
