In contrast to the towns and cities in the north of Belgium, the Belgian Ardennes brings stunning scenery, rolling hills and picture book towns and villages. Based in the small town of La Roche-en-Ardenne, we have a great base to explore the area. The town is overlooked by the Chateau de la Roche, dating back to the 9th Century. The Floreal Hotel is a perfect base, located on the banks of the River Ourthe and only 900 yards from the picturesque town centre.
Our excursions take us to Durbuy, the self proclaimed smallest town on earth. It is a stunning village in the rolling hills. The Belgian Ardennes is home to many chateaux and gardens and visit the best in the region. Jardins d’Annevoie has over 20 ornamental ponds and lakes with waterfalls. We will also visit the town of Dinant, a town perched on the banks of the River Meuse with a famous Citadel..
Day One – UK to La Roche-en-Ardenne
From your departure point travel to Hythe Interchange (Stop 24) and join your main tour coach for the channel crossing to Calais. We then continue our journey to the Floreal Hotel in La Roche-en-Ardenne.
Day Two – La Roche-en-Ardenne and Durbuy
We spend the morning exploring your host town overlooked by the impressive castle. Stroll the streets with many shops and cafes selling local souvenirs and delicacies. Visit the Battle of the Ardennes Museum, a museum dedicated to the Battle of the Ardenne in 1944 when 90% of the town was destroyed. In the afternoon we visit Durbuy, a beautiful village located in the rolling hills. (B,D)
Day Three – Jardins d’Annevoie and Dinant
We visit Jardins d’Annevoie, a unique spectacle of gardens and water features. French, English and Italian inspired gardens can be seen. In the afternoon we continue to Dinant, a beautiful town on the banks of the River Meuse. (B,D)
Day Four – Luxembourg
Enjoy an excursion to Luxembourg City, capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Stroll through the Petrusse Gorge or the old town and see the remains of one of the most imposing fortresses in Europe. (B,D)
Day Five – Belgium to UK
On the last day of our holiday, we travel to Calais for our Channel crossing and onward journey home. (B)

Full Day: Luxembourg City

Spend half a day in Durbuy, the self proclaimed smallest town on earth. It is a stunning village in the rolling hills, which houses an excellent topiary gardens. Its pedestrian streets, winding between the ancient houses, are narrow and cobbled. Durbuy is a very pleasant holiday resort renowned for its excellent food.
Luxembourg Guided City Tour
Discover some of Luxembourg’s best sights and explore this wonderful location with a guided city tour. We’ll learn more about the city’s fascinating history, as well as taking in sights such as the grand Luxembourg Castle, Fort Thungen, the city’s very own Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the Grand Ducal Palace.

Self-proclaimed as the smallest city in the world, Durbuy is home to the largest Topiary Gardens in the world. Wander through the maze of paths admiring the skills of the artists.
