Itinerary

Day One: UK to Germany
Join our tour coach and make our way to Germany for an overnight stay.

Day Two: Germany to Salzburg area
We journey into Austria, where we stay on the outskirts of Salzburg for three nights. (B,D)

Day Three: Salzburg
Heading into Salzburg today, we have time to explore and also enjoy an apple strudel making demonstration and traditional goulash lunch. (B,L,D)

Day Four: Austrian Lakes
Enjoy a scenic tour into the Austrian Lake District today, visiting the famous Café Dallman to get an insight into this popular confectionary. (B,D)

Day Five: Salzburg to Rabenstein
Leaving Salzburg, we head to Rabenstein for an overnight stay, calling en route to see a Linz Torte making and traditional bread making process.

Day Six: Rabenstein to Vienna
We journey over to Vienna, travelling through the Wachau Valley. We’ll see Melk Abbey and enjoy a short train journey to Krems, where we enjoy a vineyard tour. We then stay in Vienna for two nights. (B,D)

Day Seven: Vienna
Have a day to explore Vienna, as well as tasting a famous Sacher Torte at the Hotel Sacher. This evening our dinner will be a traditional Austrian Heuriger at a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day Eight: Vienna to Bavaria
We head westwards back into Germany for an overnight stay. (B,D)

Day Nine: Bavaria to Belgium
We continue to Belgium for our final overnight stay. (B,D)

Day Ten: Belgium to UK
We make our way to Calais and onwards home. (B)

Arcotel Wimberger

The hotel’s central location makes it perfect for fans of art and culture as well as those who love to shop. Close by are Vienna’s main shopping boulevard, the Mariahilfer Straße, the Wiener Stadthalle, the city’s major concert venue, and numerous galleries and boutiques. The city’s museum quarter is also just a few minutes away either on foot or by public transport.

The hotel has its own restaurant, the which serves traditional Viennese dishes and also boasts the most famous brunch anywhere in the city. The bar is decorated throughout in colonial style and with an impressive range of speciality whiskies to delight even the most discerning connoisseur. There are also plenty of other restaurants and pubs in the vicinity of the hotel.

We call at the charming city of Linz, where we enjoy a demonstration of the famous local Linz Torte and go on to Petzenkirchen to see the traditional bread making process, before going for an overnight stay in Rabenstein.

We journey over to Vienna, travelling through the Wachau Valley. We’ll see historic Melk Abbey and enjoy a short train journey to Krems, where we enjoy an interesting vineyard tour.

Salzburg

Today we visit the beautiful city of Salzburg, famous as the birthplace of Mozart. We’ll enjoy an apple strudel making demonstration, then enjoy a traditional goulash lunch, before tasting our dessert. Enjoy some free time then to explore this wonderful city, where top sights include the cathedral, castle and Mirabell Gardens.

Vienna

Have a day to explore Vienna, the wonderful capital city of Austria. A walk along the famous Ringstrasse Boulevard would take you past some beautiful buildings, such as the City Hall and State Opera. Whilst here, we will also savour the famous Sacher Torte cake at the Hotel Sacher. This evening our dinner will be a traditional Austrian Heuriger at a local restaurant.
