Step back in time and appreciate the delights of the medieval city of Bruges, with its enchanting narrow streets and alleys, tree-lined canals and splendid architecture. This wonderful location is famous for its architecture, sights and stunning location, and we’ll get to enjoy all this and more during our time here.

We’ll have two included excursions to look forward to, which will allow us to further explore this location. We’ll enjoy a full day spent in Antwerp - make the most of time at leisure to explore this magnificent destination. We’ll then sit back and relax with a scenic drive along the coast to Ostend, known for its picturesque scenery and excellent seaside.

Day One - UK to Bruges
We’ll make our way to Calais, then on to Belgium and Bruges.

Day Two - Ghent
This morning you will have the opportunity to join an optional excursion to Sluis in neighbouring Holland. During the afternoon we visit the charming city of Ghent, comprising a mixture of French and Flemish, often referred to as the historic heart of Flanders. (B,D)

Day Three - Bruges
A chance to explore the wonderfully historic city of Bruges, known as the ‘Venice of the North’ with its canals and bars, cafés and restaurants that open out onto bustling squares. This perfectly preserved medieval city has numerous sights to discover, including the World Heritage Site city centre, museums and the Lake of Love. You can also choose to join our optional guided walking tour. (B,D)

Day Four - Ostend
This morning we make our way along the coast, enjoying a scenic drive to seaside Ostend. Spend time exploring the town, before we return to Bruges by coach, enjoying lunch at our hotel as no evening meal will be provided this evening. We also have an optional excursion to Ypres, best known as the site of the dramatic First World War battles and where many British soldiers fought and died. It is now home to the Menin Gate, placed there in honour of those who perished with no known graves and each evening the Last Post is sounded. There is also an optional excursion to visit the surrounding battlefields.

Day Five - Bruges to UK
Travel back to Calais, then home. (B)

Well-located within walking distance of the city’s main sights and attractions, the Novotel Centrum has a pleasant bar and inviting restaurant. The hotel also has a garden with heated swimming pool.

Half Day: Ghent

We visit the charming city of Ghent, comprising a mixture of French and Flemish, and often referred to as the historical heart of Flanders. Explore the narrow streets leading to fascinating squares during our excursion here.


Half Day: Scenic coastal drive and Ostend

Join us as we enjoy a scenic drive along the coast to reach the popular seaside resort of Ostend. You will have time at leisure to stroll along the beautiful promenade or relax at one of the many bars and restaurants, where you can sample one of the many beers Belgium is famed for.


Optional Excursions

Battlefields Tour

We’ll get the benefit of travelling with an experienced Battlefields guide, who will be able to give us insight into the intense fighting which occurred during the World Wars.

This excursion will take us to some of the key sites of fighting, and our tour guide will give us more information in the form of stories and anecdotes from soldiers.


Bruges Guided Walking Tour

Bruges is a fascinating city, and we’ll be able to enjoy a guided walking tour of the city while we’re there. This will provide us with more information about the city, as well as showing us some of the most famous attractions and landmarks.


Half Day: Ypres

We'll take a trip to Ypres today to explore this incredibly historical town in Belgium. Ypres is home to a great many fascinating sights, such as the 13th century Cloth Hall and Saint Martin’s Cathedral, which features remarkable Gothic architecture.

During our time in Ypres, we’ll be able to tour these attractions at leisure, as well as enjoying walks through the town to see the local sights.



From Bruges we’ll make our way to Sluis in neighbouring Holland, where we’ll have free time to explore this enticing town. With its popular shopping areas and lovely atmosphere, it’s easy to fall in love with this excellent destination. Sluis is often thought of as the most Flemish town in the Netherlands, and its Flemish-style belfry certainly proves this!
