York and Leeds Christmas Market Weekend
Get into the festive spirit with a visit to two of Yorkshire's most famous Christmas markets. Today, we visit the magical St Nicholas Christmas Fayre in York. Set in the historic centre with its famous shopping area known as 'The Shambles', this annual Christmas Fayre has continued since medieval times. The city comes alive with Victorian-costumed traders, carol singers and delicious smells of roasted chestnuts and hot chocolate laced with brandy.

Enjoy a visit to the Leeds Christkindelmarket. A little piece of Germany on Millennium Square in the heart of Leeds, over 100 traders from Frankfurt set up stalls for the annual Christkindelmarket. Browse cosy chalets selling unique gifts including handmade jewellery, toys and clothing, and be sure to treat yourself to traditional delicacies such as stollen, bratwurst, gingerbread and Glühwein.
