Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to the Royal Hotel, Whitby for four nights.
We head into the beautiful North York Moors and travel to pretty Goathland, instantly recognisable as Aidensfield from TV's Heartbeat. Here we take to the tracks of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and enjoy a journey in the lovingly restored carriages, to Pickering.
We continue to visit the interesting Ryedale Folk Museum before taking the scenic route back over the moors as we return to Whitby.
Enjoy a day to relax in seaside Whitby. Climb the 199 Steps to the dramatic ruins of the abbey, enjoy some fish and chips at the Magpie Café or take a stroll around the shops along cobbled Church Street.
Alternatively, join our optional excursion to York, with its ancient walls, independent shops and quaint tea rooms. This magnificently historic city has so much to discover in the quaint Shambles that are overlooked by the glorious York Minster.
The optional excursions will be available to book during your tour.
Prices are per person and are subject to change. Payment will be in sterling (cash payments only).
Enjoy a trip along the North York coast to reach popular Scarborough - beneath the resort’s prominent headland thrives a colourful fishing community and sophisticated holiday resort.

Liked the tour and thought it good value for money, especially with the no single supplement offer. The hotel was in a lovely location. However, the tour scheduling and the communication from our driver both needed improvement. We arrived at the hotel 2 hours before check in. We arrived at Goathland 2 hours before our train (not much to do there) and on the journey home, we waited 3 hours for our transfer coach home. We could have left Whitby later - it was a lovely day.

The tour was exactly what I imagined and very enjoyable but the hotel was a huge disappointment. Our room was shabby and to have just one lift (which wasn't working on arrival) for mainly senior citizen guests wasn't acceptable in my opinion.
