The holiday was fine. However, the hotel room was tardy, unkempt and the lack of a daily housekeeping service was below the standard we should and could reasonably accept. The one item that really was unacceptable was the forced and single choice of evening meal on the first night. This wasn’t the doing of the Hotel, but Shearing’s failure to assure a satisfactory n meal was suitable and available for all guests. The assumption that pasta was suitable for everyone, just isn’t good enough. Saying that the food that was served the remainder of our stay was plentiful and of a high standard. The daily trips were well worth the costs. The coach driver was pleasant, polite and charming. Will we go with Shearings again? In all probability, yes.

Onich Hotel was not equiped to accommodate coach parties. Managers were helpful and obliging but short of staff, no porterage and no entertainment. Limited menu choice and Shearings had the audacity to instruct hotel to serve us pasta for evening meal on first night. Outrageous! light not working over mirror, loose skirting boards and insufficient storage space in bathroom with £100 supplement. Overpriced for what we had. Thanks to innovative coach driver we had a trip to Caledonian Hotel for some entertainment due to our isolated location. Jacobite train journey excellent but overall expensive for facilities available and standards did not match the price of coach tour.

Having been on 5/6 trips with Sheerings in the past we booked , a trip to Paris for a four night break, the majority of the trip was enjoyable except , we all booked an .advertised trip paid the coach driver our money 56.00E. for a meal in Paris and a night tour round Paris.. The meal was very mediocre, but as we had a good group atmosphere all was going good. however when we all were back on the coach . the driver informed the tour coach 168 that he had decided that he was not doing the night tour round Paris, as it was too light still 8.00 at night, and that anyone that has any complaints should email shearings when they got back. his attitude appeared to have a menacing tone . after a little while , another passenger with slight autism stood up and asked why he wasn't going on the night trip, the answer he gave was there are 28 people on the coach and 27 are too tired to go out at night . he then proceeded to stand over the seated vulnerable adult with his arms outstretched and blocking the view of his family in what appeared to be intimidating telling this person not to spoil it for everyone. HE HAD ONLY ASKED WHAT OTHERS WERE THINKING. On return his mother rang the customer service line to be told that the drivers were out of time , had the driver said this it would have been more acceptable , but its a lot to advertise and charge people for and then intimidate them when they respond . well done sheerings ledger . never again will i stand by and allow you to ick on a vulnerable adult. we don't want financial recompense , just to let people know that if your expecting a night seeing the lights in Paris you may well be disappointed
