Today we explore one of England’s finest medieval towns, Shrewsbury. With over 600 listed buildings, there’s plenty of history to uncover; visit The Mount House to see where Charles Darwin was born, or head to the home of the fictional character Brother Cadfael, Shrewsbury Abbey.
Enjoy a Victorian Tour at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ironbridge.
We begin at Blists Hill Victorian Town where you can travel back over 100 years experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of a bygone age.
Then on to the fascinating Jackfield Tile Museum where you can discover the craft and creativity behind the tiles that decorated Victorian Britain. There will also be time to marvel at the magnificent Ironbridge, from which the site gets its name.
Visit the Black Country Living Museum, covering over 26 acres of former industrial land, this award-winning museum offers a glimpse into 200 years of industrial history.
Meet the historic characters, who will show you what it was like to live and work in one of the first industrialised landscapes of Britain as you explore the reconstructed shops, pubs and houses. Watch live demonstrations, take part in old-fashioned street games or perhaps visit the vintage cinema!

The hotel was recently refurbished, but refurbishment not complete. There was a galleried dining area with windows looking on to the garden, but we were asked to sit in an inside area. (There was no one in the galleried area during our stay.) Overall a good holiday with the above comments that should be attended to.
