Local departure by coach, then on to Arrochar on the banks of Loch Long and our hotel for three nights.
Today we visit Glasgow, famous for its cosmopolitan culture and buzzing atmosphere. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the city however you like, perhaps calling at Clydesdale Distillery for a tour, visiting the cathedral to marvel at the impressive gothic architecture, or visiting one of the many museums and galleries here. Of course there are also many shops, pubs, and restaurants as well as fantastic cultural venues to explore.
Relax in Arrochar, or join our optional excursion to Inveraray on the western shore of Loch Fyne. Established in 1745 by the 3rd Duke of Argyll, head of Clan Campbell, the town has a long history and many fine Georgian buildings. There is a neoclassical church, and the Jail is now an award-winning museum that tells of the lives of prisoners throughout the centuries. Just outside of the town is Inveraray Castle which remains the family home of the Dukes of Argyll to this day and is set in extensive grounds. The town is also home to a Woolen Mill, selling many famous brands and Scottish produce such as knitwear, whisky and traditional food.
