Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to Kendal and our hotel for three nights.
Excursion visiting the bustling town of Bowness, a popular lakeside town that is bursting with attractions including The World of Beatrix Potter, the charming St Martin's church and the Windermere Jetty Museum which is dedicated to the boats, people and rich history of the lake. We then continue to Ambleside, at the head of the lake. Ambleside is home to one of the Lake District's most iconic sights - the tiny Bridge House that sits above Stock Ghyll Beck.
Relax in Kendal, or join our optional excursion to the picturesque market town of Keswick. Overlooked by the dramatic Skiddaw range in the north and the expansive Derwentwater in the south the town enjoys an idyllic location in the north of the Lake District. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the town before continuing to the pretty village of Grasmere, known for being the home of William Wordsworth. Explore the village where you can admire the spectacular surrounding fells, visit Wordsworth’s grave, or maybe even buy some of the legendary Grasmere gingerbread.
