ABOUT THE TOUR
The presents are unwrapped and the turkey has been eaten, but that doesn’t mean the festive spirit doesn’t live on! Enjoy the period in between Christmas and New Year, known as Twixmas in Weymouth, one of Britain’s oldest resorts, with a historic harbour, old pubs and cottages, and plenty of shops and attractions.

Day 1:
Local departure by coach, then on to Weymouth and our hotel for three nights.

Day 2: Dorchester
Today we visit Dorchester, the county town of Dorset and a historic market town. Fans of the acclaimed poet and writer Thomas Hardy will be aware of the town’s connection, with is featuring as ‘Casterbridge’ in many of his works, and with Hardy’s birthplace located on the outskirts of Dorchester in Higher Bockhampton. Shoppers may prefer to browse the central pedestrianised area with its arcades of shops, whilst history-lovers may prefer a visit to the Dorset County Museum or the Keep Military Museum.

Day 3: Day at leisure or Poole
Relax in Weymouth, or join our optional excursion to Poole. A resort for all seasons, Poole is a bustling resort and known for being the home of Europe’s largest natural harbour. Stroll along the historic quayside, delve deep into the heart of the old town, or sit back and relax in one of the many cafes and bars and watch the fishing boats and luxury yachts leave the harbour.

This beautiful late-Victorian hotel is just a short walk away from a wealth of shops, independent cafés, bars and quality restaurants. After a day in Weymouth, enjoy a drink in the inviting bar or cosy lounge and admire the brilliant views of the promenade, ideal for watching the world go by. If you’d rather have a night in, head to the hotel restaurant where you will be greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere, as well as seasonal menus that are sure to delight!
