Today we visit Cheddar, famous for the magnificent limestone Gorge has attracted visitors for centuries, which were formed over one million years ago during the last ice age. The village has riverside walks, quaint tearooms, and is home to the world-famous cheese and the traditional method of cheese making can still be seen at the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company. We continue to pretty Wells, whose cathedral qualifies it as a city - the smallest in England!
Relax in Weston-super-Mare, or join our optional excursion to Bath. The largest city in Somerset and the only UK city designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bath is famous for its Roman Baths dating back to 43AD, as well as the Royal Crescent and the Circus and many other examples of stunning architecture. Choose to visit the Jane Austen Centre and learn more about the author who loved this city, enjoy some retail therapy or simply relax in a chic bar or restaurant.
