Today we visit Glasgow, famous for its cosmopolitan culture and buzzing atmosphere. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the city however you like, perhaps calling at Clydesdale Distillery for a tour, visiting the cathedral to marvel at the impressive gothic architecture, or visiting one of the many museums and galleries here. Of course there are also many shops, pubs, and restaurants as well as fantastic cultural venues to explore. We return back to the hotel in time for our 'Christmas Dinner' complete with a complimentary glass of wine.
Relax in Arrochar or join our optional excursion to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. The stunning Trossachs await us, as we travel into the heart of Scotland’s National Park. We journey over the Dukes Pass, through the village of Brig o’Turk, and call at the bustling town of Callander, before returning along Loch Lomond.
with an extra experience
This optional excursion is available to pre-book or you can book during your tour.
This morning we visit Inveraray on the western shore of Loch Fyne. Established in 1745 by the 3rd Duke of Argyll, head of Clan Campbell, the town has a long history and many fine Georgian buildings. There is a neoclassical church, and the Jail is now an award-winning museum that tells of the lives of prisoners throughout the centuries. Just outside of the town is Inveraray Castle which remains the family home of the Dukes of Argyll to this day and is set in extensive grounds. The town is also home to a Woolen Mill, selling many famous brands and Scottish produce such as knitwear, whisky and traditional food. We return to the hotel for a festive cream tea.
We depart the hotel this morning full of festive cheer and return home.
Our team (based right here in the UK) will be more than happy to talk you through things - just give us a buzz!
You will stay for four nights at the Claymore Hotel in Arrochar.
