ABOUT THE TOUR
Christmas comes early on a Turkey & Tinsel break! Enjoy the festive season twice this year with mulled wine on arrival, Christmas dinner with a complimentary drink, and a festive cream tea one day. Get into the festive spirit in Derwentwater, close to Keswick, with its association to the Lake Poets and being the location of the ever-popular Cat Bells hills.
TOUR INCLUDES
Day 1:
Local departure by coach, then on to Derwentwater near Keswick and our hotel for four nights. We enjoy a tea, coffee or mulled wine with a festive treat on arrival to get us into the spirit of the season.

Day 2: Keswick and Grasmere
Today we visit the pretty village of Grasmere, known for being the home of William Wordsworth. Explore the village where you can admire the spectacular surrounding fells, visit Wordsworth’s grave, or maybe even buy some of the legendary Grasmere gingerbread.<br><br>We then call at the picturesque market town of Keswick. Overlooked by the dramatic Skiddaw range in the north and the expansive Derwentwater in the south the town enjoys an idyllic location in the north of the Lake District. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the town before we transfer back to the hotel, or perhaps you'd prefer to walk the 2 mile walk back to the hotel yourself.<br><br>We return back to the hotel in time for our 'Christmas Dinner' complete with a complimentary glass of wine.

Day 3: Day at leisure or Penrith
Relax on the shores of Derwentwater or stroll nearby Keswick, or join our optional excursion to Penrith, the old capital of Cumbria. View the ruins of Penrith Castle or stroll the medieval streets. Stop for a drink in one of the man cafes and browse the shops.

Day 4: Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside
This morning we will head to Bowness, the village on the shores of Lake Windermere and one of the most visited destinations in the Lake District. We continue charming Ambleside, predominantly a Victorian town, bursting with shops selling a range of arts, crafts, and outdoor activity shops. We return to the hotel for a festive cream tea

Day 5:
We depart the hotel this morning full of festive cheer and return home.
