Local departure by coach, then on to Whitby and our hotel for four nights. We enjoy a tea, coffee or mulled wine with a festive treat on arrival to get us into the spirit of the season.
Today we take a trip to the majestic city of York. York has a rich history and many museums celebrating it, such as the Jorvik Viking Centre, the National Railway Museum telling of 300 years of railway history, and the Chocolate Story which tells of the many famous sweet brands associated with the city. York Minster’s impressive Gothic architecture dominates the city as one of the largest cathedrals in Northern Europe, and The Shambles are always worth a visit, with its over-hanging timber-framed houses and traditional shopfronts. Browse York’s many shops, from high street favourites to quirky and independent boutiques, along with excellent cafés, pubs and restaurants.
At this time of year, York is home to St Nicholas Fair, one of the best Christmas Markets in the county, boasting traders from across the country selling the traditional festive foods and hand-crafted gifts.
We return back to the hotel in time for our 'Christmas Dinner' and evening entertainment.
Relax in Whitby or join our optional excursion with a scenic drive through the stunning North York Moors, dotted with quaint market towns and pretty villages.
with an extra experience
This optional excursion is available to pre-book or you can book during your tour.
This morning we take a trip along the coast to nearby Scarborough. As Britain’s oldest and original seaside resort, Scarborough knows a thing or two about pleasing holidaymakers. Enjoy the sandy beaches, visit the Sea Life sanctuary, or explore the 12th century castle.
We depart the hotel this morning full of festive cheer and return home.
Please note that if Christmas Markets are rescheduled or cancelled, the excursions will still visit the same destinations for time at leisure. Turkey & Tinsel package subject to change and may be on different days.
Our team (based right here in the UK) will be more than happy to talk you through things - just give us a buzz!
