Today we visit the ‘fair city’ of Perth, receiving its nickname after the Fair Maid of Perth by Sir Walter Scott was published in 1828. This elegant city was once the ancient capital of Scotland, and today has a wealth of museums, art galleries, stunning gardens, along with a palace and racecourse. We then continue to Dundee, with its regenerated waterfront, nautical museums, and the V&A Museum – the first Victoria and Albert Museum outside of London which opened in 2018. We return back to the hotel in time for our 'Christmas Dinner' complete with a complimentary glass of wine.

Relax in Pitlochry or join our optional excursion to Stirling. This historic city is where the Wars of Independence were fought and won and where for three centuries monarchs rules, and today the rich heritage is apparent throughout the city. Why not stroll down the compact heritage mile which links Stirling’s Old Town with its bustling modern centre and admire the historic buildings. Overlooking the scene of one of Scotland’s most famous battle sites, Stirling Bridge is the 220 ft high National Wallace Monument. It’s 246 to the top, but the glorious views are worth it!
