Turkey & Tinsel in Paignton and Carols in the Caves

Local departure by coach, then on to Paignton and our hotel for four nights. We enjoy a mulled wine with a mince pie, followed by dinner and an evening of entertainment.

Today, we visit Exeter and its fantastic Christmas Market. You will have free time to explore the winter wonderland located in Cathedral Green, with its charming stalls selling Christmas gifts and themed food and drinks.

We return to the hotel to enjoy afternoon refreshments with a festive treat, followed by Christmas dinner and evening entertainment.

Spend a day at leisure today in Paignton, or join our optional excursion to Plymouth. There is so much to do and see in this maritime city. You will have free time to explore Plymouth, perhaps delving into the city’s nautical past with a visit to the Barbican waterfront before enjoying fish and chips in the harbour. For gin lovers, you could visit the Plymouth Gin Distillery and enjoy a tour and tasting of one of Plymouth’s famous exports. Or why not head to the Piazza in the city centre and browse the Christmas market to your heart’s content? More than 50 traders from across the Southwest will be selling their wares in traditional wooden cabins, festooned with fairy lights.

We return to the hotel for afternoon refreshments and a festive treat, followed by dinner this evening and entertainment.

You will have some free time today to explore Paignton before we head out to Kents Cavern for a truly magical experience in the caves.

Upon arrival, you will receive a seasonal welcome drink and treat before experiencing a 45‑minute carol concert featuring local choirs. You can also enjoy a Christmas‑themed cave tour with carols by candlelight.

Please note: the concert is seated, and this is then followed by a short walking cave tour. Kents Cavern is a relatively easy walk, with mostly flat concrete surfaces and only nine shallow steps. There is plenty of headroom and, best of all, no stooping! Sensible footwear should be worn.
