Today we visit the Scottish capital, Edinburgh. There’s no shortage of attractions, such as Calton Hill, which is home to Edinburgh’s most prominent monuments, the National Museum of Scotland and the Scotch Whisky Experience. Edinburgh Castle is a must-see, with the oldest parts of the complex dating back to the 11th century. Why not wander down the famous Royal Mile or Princes Street or simply just admire the architecture in this beautiful city.

At this time of year, wooden chalets pop up throughout Edinburgh, home to traders from across the country selling the traditional festive foods and hand-crafted gifts.

We return back to the hotel in time for our 'Christmas Dinner' complete with a complimentary glass of wine.

This morning we visit Jedburgh. Mary Queen of Scots stayed here in 1566 at a house which now tells the story of her tragic life. Enjoy time at leisure to explore, take a riverside walk or browse the shops in the colourful buildings in the Market Place. On the outskirts of town is the Jedburgh Woolen Mill selling many famous brands and Scottish produce such as knitwear, whisky, traditional food and stocks over 250 tartans. We then visit Kelso. The market town, nestled in stunning surrounding countryside, has a range of independent local shops to browse - perfect to do a little festive shopping! We return to the hotel for a festive cream tea.
