There’s no shortage of attractions, such as Calton Hill, which is home to Edinburgh’s most prominent monuments, the National Museum of Scotland and the Scotch Whisky Experience. Edinburgh Castle is a must-see, with the oldest parts of the complex dating back to the 11th century. Why not wander down the famous Royal Mile or Princes Street or simply just admire the architecture in this beautiful city.

At this time of year, wooden chalets pop up throughout Edinburgh, home to traders from across the country selling the traditional festive foods and hand-crafted gifts.

The only problem I had was booking on line. It took me 4 attempts as I kept getting blocked out at the booking conditions point.

Very easy to book by landline. which I prefer to booking on line. The lady I dealt with was very helpful and cheerful ! which makes a great deal of difference when you are 85 years old.
