From home to Torquay
Day Two - Seven:
In and around Torquay
From Torquay to home
The Bay Torbay hotel sits amid swaying palms and golden sands at the heart of the English Riviera in the beautiful town or Torquay.
Set on the seafront just across the road from the Pavillion Theatre, with the South West Coast Path passing very close to the hotel. Fleet Street starts just behind the hotel and has a number of shops and cafes to enjoy.
From Torquay it is just a short journey by both car and public transport to the best natural sights that Devon has to offer. Dartmoor is about an hour away where you can enjoy great walks along beautiful trails amid fantastic heather moorland. Or head south along the coast to the pretty towns such as Paignton and Dartmouth.
In the hotel you can relax on a lovely sun terrace or grab some food and drinks from one of the two bars or snack bar and the café. We offer standard, standard plus, superior and premier rooms which you can select to upgrade to for even greater space and comfort during your stay.
Full Day: Dartmoor and cream tea cruise
Today we travel across Dartmoor National Park, the largest and wildest area of open country in southern England to reach Princetown where we enjoy a cream tea. We continue on to maritime Plymouth where we enjoy a harbour cruise.
Full Day: Dawlish, Teignmouth and Babbacombe Model Village
Excursion to Teignmouth, with its 19th century pier, pretty Dawlish, set back from the coast above the high deep red sandstone cliffs and visiting the popular Babbacombe Model Village – with over 4-acres award-winning gardens to explore you can marvel at the miniature creations that capture the imagination! Sound and animation, along with a healthy dose of British humour bring the Model Village to life!
Half Day: Torbay Tour
Enjoy a coastal drive around beautiful Torbay, the heart of the English Riviera and its popular resorts. Each seaside town has its own charm and character, and this popular holiday region is blessed with a mild climate as well as many sandy beaches, rocky coves and picturesque harbours. It’s certainly no wonder that so many holiday-makers return here.
