The hotel is 200 years old and situated in the little quiet village of Portinscale near Keswick. The room was spacious being a disabled one. The food was excellent, tasty and was well presented. We had a great rapport with the maitre d' which helped to make the holiday a very relaxing experience. I would highly recommend the Derwentwater Hotel. Thanks to all concerned. John Anderson.

This hotel is all that we would expect from a Shearings hotel. The brand for us is tip-top.

Great Hotel beautifully situated. The rooms were great if a bit dated. Food was excellent service friendly and very helpful. It was most unfortunate that we had to cut our stay short as my wife took ill. I intend to return to this particular hotel in the future as I really enjoyed it.
