Regional departure by coach, then we head to Yorkshire.
Nestled on the edge of the Yorkshire moors, Haworth is forever linked with the remarkable Brontë family. From 1820, the village was home to Patrick Brontë and his children – Charlotte, Emily, Anne and Branwell – who lived in the parsonage beside St Michael and All Angels Church. It was here that Charlotte wrote Jane Eyre, Emily created Wuthering Heights, and Anne penned The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, inspired by the dramatic landscapes and close-knit community that surrounded them.
Today, the Brontë Parsonage Museum preserves the family's former home, allowing visitors to step into the rooms where some of English literature's greatest works were created. Original manuscripts, letters, furniture, clothing and personal possessions bring the Brontës' extraordinary story to life, while exhibitions and events celebrate their enduring literary legacy. More than a museum, the Parsonage offers a unique opportunity to experience the home, history and landscape that shaped one of the world's most influential literary families.
We then head to our hotel to check in and enjoy dinner this evening.
The spectacular landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales played an important role in the lives and imaginations of the Brontë family. While the sisters lived in Haworth, they often travelled through the surrounding Dales, visiting market towns, villages and historic landmarks. The sweeping valleys, limestone scenery and dramatic countryside provided inspiration for the wild settings found in their novels.
We travel deep into the Yorkshire Dales National Park today with our expert local guide. We will make a stop at the famous Wensleydale Creamery where you can enjoy a coffee in the café and browse the local produce in the cheese shop. The open moorland scenery surrounding this area resembles the wild upland landscapes that form the backdrop to Wuthering Heights. The isolated farmhouses, stone walls and exposed hills evoke the atmosphere of remoteness and endurance found throughout the novel. We will enjoy free time in the picturesque market town of Hawes, the heart of Wensleydale. Choose from a selection of welcoming cafés, traditional inns and restaurants serving delicious Yorkshire produce for lunch.
This afternoon we head into Swaledale and pass through the village of Low Row. The filming unit of the 2026 film Wuthering Heights, starring Margot Robbie, was based here and they used numerous parts of the village for filming. Our last stop of the day is in Richmond. This pretty North Yorkshire town has a cobbled marketplace, one of England's largest, lined with Georgian buildings, independent shops, pubs and cafés.
We then head back to our hotel.
After a leisurely breakfast today, we journey home.
