Find inspiration in the vibrant Community Borders, learn from the show gardens and pick up tips from the expert growers. We combine this with a visit to RHS Bridgewater on the outskirts of Manchester, the RHS's newest garden. Dating back to the reign of Queen Victoria, this revived site has been brought back to life in spectacular style, with highlights including the Weston Walled Garden, the Kitchen Garden and the Paradise Garden.

Regional departure by coach, then enjoy a direct journey to the wonderful RHS Garden Bridgewater, near Manchester. Once the site of Worsley New Hall in Salford, this heritage landscape has been transformed into one of the RHS's most exciting gardens. Landscape architect Tom Stuart-Smith drew up the masterplan, and the brilliant Bridgewater team, working alongside award-winning garden designers, have created a wonderful 'gardens within a garden', blending centuries of history with some truly world-class horticulture.
There's so much to see! The Weston Walled Garden is home to a whole collection of garden rooms, each one setting the scene for a lovely afternoon of exploring – think colourful themed borders, sub-gardens devoted to different planting styles, and characterful listed buildings dotted throughout. And there's more beyond the walls, too, with woodland, meadows and lakes to wander at your leisure.
We enjoy breakfast then head to Tatton Park for the return of the fabulous RHS Flower Show. RHS Tatton plays host to a whole array of garden categories. The Show Gardens demonstrate the best in horticultural design, while the Feature Gardens each explore a theme and the Young Designer Gardens give upcoming talent the chance to kick-start their careers.
Surround yourself with beautiful plants and shop from some of the UK's finest growers at the Plant Village and Floral Marquee. You can pick up top tips from the expert growers to help you nurture your own plants at home, and taking centre stage in the Floral Marquee is the RHS Master Grower.
Don't miss the immersive Flower School, where expert florists show you how to create gorgeous displays. The Summer Fruit & Veg Competition also offers plenty of grow-your-own inspiration, with the finest locally grown produce on display. There'll be plenty of experts on hand too, giving talks and demos and sharing ideas to steal – all in all, a magnificent day out for anyone green-fingered!
