  • Day 3: Cardiff and Royal Mint Experience

Today we spend a full day in Cardiff, including a visit to the famous castle. Contained within these mighty stone walls is a wealth of history spanning 2000 years. Although founded by the Romans 2000 years ago, Cardiff is essentially a young city. The city has seen immense change over the past decade but still retains a wealth of dignified buildings, including the city centre castle alongside a unique mix of traditional Welsh influences. The results of this change can be seen at the Millennium Stadium and Cardiff Bay – one of Europe’s most exciting waterfront developments. After free time to enjoy this cosmopolitan city the coach will be waiting to take you home.

We end the day with a visit to the Royal Mint Experience on the outskirts of Cardiff. This interactive museum explains how coins are produced. See the coins being minted and learn the fascinating history of this everyday piece of our lives
