Relax in Shanklin with a day at leisure. A traditional seaside resort on the south-east coast of the island, uncover the town’s fascinating history or admire the beautiful geological feature of Shanklin Chine.

Alternatively, why not join our optional excursion? Our first visit is to Alum Bay, famous for its multi-coloured sands and the ‘Needles’ – some of the most photographed groups of rocks in the world. Continuing to Ryde, enjoy time to explore the attractive esplanade and thriving shops.

The Needles

Today, we will soak up the views of the island’s unspoilt countryside and quaint villages with a nostalgic journey on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Sit back in the beautifully restored carriages and watch the scenery roll by!

We continue to visit the picture-postcard village of Godshill, brimming with pretty thatched cottages which are clustered around the charming church.

Daish's Hotel Shanklin

The Daish's Hotel Shanklin was the first of the Daish's Hotel's chain and remains their flagship hotel. The original building was an 18th century coaching inn, and it is still possible to see some of the period features today! Following an extensive refurbishment in 2015, the hotel offers a coffee shop serving light snacks and refreshments, and a sun terrace.
