This morning we visit two of Scotland’s top attractions - The Kelpies, and the nearby award-winning Falkirk Wheel, where you board a boat to be hoisted 35 metres on the world’s only rotating boatlift.
Afterwards, the tour heads towards Edinburgh for a wonderful 90 minutes cruise under the three famous Bridges, spanning nearly 140 years of Scottish engineering. The latest bridge opened in 2017 and is the longest three-tower cable-stayed bridge in the world. The cruise heads out into the Firth, as we enjoy views of the mainland and the islands, such as Inchkeith and Car Craig.
We stop at Inchcolm Island, where you can disembark to see the abbey.
We spend some time in Edinburgh. Overlooking the Old Town is the famous castle, with its commanding view of the city and surrounding countryside, including the Firth of Forth. During its history, the city has become neatly divided in two, the Old Town of pre-18th century times, huddled under Castle Rock, and the New Town, with its fine Georgian architecture.
