On the whole we were disappointed. Especially the hotel.

The holiday once we were in Norfolk was enjoyable. However the organisation of the feeder coaches was a shambles, with some people not being included on the passenger manifest. Because of this, one lady was left standing on her own in Havant. Shearings customer services phoned round all the passengers on our coach to tell the driver to go back and get her. They didn't have the driver's contact details! This added an extra hour to the journey. Even though we were an hour late getting to our changeover in Southampton, we had another delay while we waited for another passenger who was left behind. The journey home was no better, with a coach having broken down, delaying onward journeys for an hour. Our feeder coach had jamned windscreen wipers. Ledger bought the very good name and reputation of Shearings, but in no way has it lived up to its standards.

We have travelled with Shearings holidays a lot in the past. However we are not sure we will continue to do so. We were picked up by taxi in Barking and taken to Thurrock services for the feeder coach (used to have free feeder coach from Barking to the interchange at London Gateway). There were various pick ups once we had got through the congestion on the Dartford crossing. On arrival at Cobham we went onto our main coach at a set time and then turned round and headed North through the traffic and the Dartford crossing again!!! So started South to then have to return same way going North with again various picks. We really only started heading for Yarmouth around 3pm and arrived approx 5.30pm. The ridiculous journey added approx 5 hours on. Then to cap it all had exactly the same Friday with tremendous traffic on the M25 and Dartford crossing. Sitting on a coach for 10 hours is too much and unnecessary if we had started from the North!!! As in previous times from London Gateway. Also at Cobham if its raining will be lots of wet luggage as no dry areas for it. Its a shame because Hotel/Driver and places we visited were good. We went to Weston super mare in Spring and that was quick because going South but any holidays going North are a nightmare to be avoided!! We would welcome some feed back as to whether there are any plans to change these ridiculous journeys?
