Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to the Lake District for four nights.
Today we explore the Lake District from the water and the tracks! We board the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway where steam engines haul traditional 1950’s carriages through the countryside scenery of the Leven Valley, leisurely transporting you to Lakeside Station. From here we continue our journey with Windermere Lake Cruises. Sit back as we cruise along the beautiful waters of Lake Windermere, disembarking in pretty Bowness where we have some free time to explore.

Visit the market town of Keswick, on the shores of beautiful Derwentwater where the main square is flanked by independent shops, quaint cafés and art galleries.
We also call at pretty Grasmere, in the very heart of the Lake District, home to the tiny Sarah Nelson’s Grasmere Gingerbread Shop.

The restaurant serves an extensive menu, in keeping with the hotel surroundings and seasons, and the Riverside Lounge & Bar provides the perfect spot to relax with a pre- or post-dinner drink!
