Local departure by coach or Home Connect service then to Sidmouth and the 4-star Belmont Hotel for a four-night stay.
From the moment you drive through the castellated entrance and are greeted by our frock-coated doorman, you realise you are in a world apart. Only yards from the beach and the Esplanade, this luxury hotel maintains the impeccable standards of a bygone age.
Today, we will enjoy a trip on the South Devon Railway. Running along the stunning valley of the River Dart between Totnes and Buckfastleigh, it is one of Devon’s best-loved tourist attractions and the longest established steam railway in the south west.
We then enjoy a visit to Buckfast Abbey, which is located in Dartmoor National Park and home to a community of Roman Catholic Benedictine monks.
Today, we’ll take a trip to charming Exeter. Situated on the River Exe and hosting an impressive cathedral, Exeter has a rich and long history, an imposing Roman wall and beautiful Quayside. Exeter is also home to the award-winning Royal Albert Memorial Museum, where visitors can explore the city’s 2,000-year history under one roof!
For November and December departures, Exeter also hosts a magical Christmas Market.
Today we visit Exmouth, one of the oldest and most picturesque seaside towns in Devon. The town is the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and has two miles of sandy beach.
For summer departures, we will board the Stuart Line Cruise to see England’s only natural UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Jurassic Coast, from the water. Sit back and relax as we sail through time, taking in the most stunning views of this 185-million-year-old geological portrait.
For winter departures, we will embark with Stuart Lines for a festive cruise experience. Meander along the calm and sheltered waters of the River Exe on a festively decorated boat which has covered, heated lower decks, cosy blankets, and great views on the upper outside deck. You will also get to enjoy a homemade mulled wine and tasty warmed minced pie whilst you sit back and take in the scenery.
Return home.
