Local departure by coach or Home Connect service then on to your hotel for a four-night stay.
Enjoy an excursion along the Ayrshire Coast to admire the stunning scenery to reach the town of Ayr. This popular seaside resort, complete with charming sea front, fantastic esplanade and long sandy beaches it is a lovely place for a stroll, and there are great shopping and dining opportunities to be found. It also has a fascinating history and connections to Robert the Bruce and Robert Burns was born in Alloway on the outskirts of town.
After an early start, we board the ferry to Northern Ireland for our day trip to the capital city of Belfast. At your own pace, discover this compact and welcoming city which has much to see, such as the fantastic Ulster Museum, magnificent City Hall and the impressive Queen's University. Why not discover the art galleries of the Cathedral Quarter, the bustle of St George’s Market, or visit one of the many museums? We then board the ferry back to Scotland for our late return to the hotel.
If staying in Portpatrick, today we explore by a scenic drive through some of the quaint villages of Galloway to Stranraer, the largest town in south west Scotland. The town has a beautiful centre, dominated by the Castle of St John - why not enjoy a leisurely stroll along the redeveloped West Pier - on a clear day you'll get spectacular views of Ailsa Craig and the Isle of Arran in the distance.
If staying in Stranraer, we will visit the pretty seaside town of Portpatrick where you can enjoy a walk in the harbour and visit the cafes and shops in this popular resort.
Return home.
*Please note: The day trip to Belfast requires an early start and a late return in the evening. Breakfast will be on the ferry and dinner is not included on this day.

We continue our journey north, crossing into Scotland and to Portpatrick for a five-night stay.

If travelling from the North of England, you will stay for four nights at the 3-star Portpatrick Hotel or the 3-star North West Castle Hotel in Stranraer.
If travelling from the South of England, you will stay for five nights at the Portpatrick Hotel, and will have comfortable overnight stays in Northern England on the outbound and return journeys.
