Today we discover Perth, Scotland's ancient capital for five centuries. Boasting an array of outstanding monuments, art galleries and fascinating museums, there’s plenty to see and do. The highlight of your visit will be the Winter Festival Market – one of the city’s most anticipated Christmas events. Running from November until February, this seasonal extravaganza brings an abundance of festive cheer with magical Christmas markets, unique performers, and cabins brimming with hand-crafted gifts and traditional food. We return back to the hotel in time for our Christmas dinner, complete with a complimentary glass of wine.
Our first visit of the day is Queen’s View, a stunning viewpoint which was much loved by Queen Victoria. From here, we will head to the highland village of Aberfeldy, which is situated on the River Tay – Scotland’s longest river – and was made famous by Robert Burns’ poem. A highlight of the town is Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery, where you could take a tour and enjoy a wee dram.
You will also have free time in Pitlochry, before returning to the hotel for a festive cream tea.
Well and truly immersed in the festive spirit, we start our journey home.
You will stay for three nights at the 3-star Pitlochry Hydro Hotel in Pitlochry.
