5 Day Itinerary

  • Day 1:

    Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to the Angus Hotel, Blairgowrie for four nights.

  • Day 2: Forth Bridges, Edinburgh and The Royal Yacht Britannia

    Planted by Bonnie Prince Charlie’s troops in 1745, Meikleour Beech Hedge is the highest hedge in the world - 530 metres long and 100 metres high.

    Time for photos, before we head over the new Forth Road Bridge with free time in Edinburgh. Overlooking the Old Town is the famous Castle, with its commanding view of the city and surrounding countryside, including the Firth of Forth. During its history, the city has become neatly divided in two, the Old Town of pre-18th century times, huddled under Castle Rock, and the New Town, with its fine Georgian architecture. Discover the heart and soul of this regal ship which was home to the Royal Family for over 40 years.

  • Day 3: Perthshire and Highland Safari

    One of the highlights of our tour, as we head to Aberfeldy and climb aboard your 4x4 with a kilted Ranger. Armed with binoculars, share in their passion for nature, culture, wildlife as you travel through forests, mountains and moors on hill tracks with breathtaking scenery up to 3000 feet. There are regular sightings of Deer, Grouse and Golden Eagles. Enjoy a 'wee dram' and shortbread in a mountain bothy.

    The remainder of the day is spent exploring Perthshire, take in the 'Queens View' with time free in the Victorian spa town of Pitlochry.

  • Day 4: Glamis Castle and The Victoria & Albert Museum

    Soak up 1000 years of history at Glamis, the finest castle in Scotland, birthplace of Princess Margaret, and the setting for Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Explore the opulent rooms and the extensive gardens and pathways.

    Nearby is the rejuvenated city of Dundee, where we include entrance into The Victoria & Albert Museum, featuring over 300 exhibits, explaining Scotland’s outstanding achievements across the world.
