ABOUT THE TOUR
Stretching across 22 miles of Devon’s coastline, the English Riviera consists of seaside resorts, rocky coves and picturesque villages. Join us on this fantastic short break and visit Plymouth, Torquay and Babbacombe Model Village. Inland, we explore Dartmoor National Park, full of wild, open scenery that has inspired visitors for centuries.
TOUR INCLUDES
Day 1:
Local departure by coach or Home Connect service then on to Paignton for a seven-night stay.

Day 2: Plymouth Harbour Cruise and Cream Tea
Enjoy an included excursion to the maritime city of Plymouth. From the historic Barbican area, we take a delightful harbour cruise to soak up the sights.
We then return to Paignton via a relaxing drive through the magnificent scenery of Dartmoor National Park. Stopping at Princetown – the highest town on the Moor – we enjoy a delicious Devonshire cream tea.

Day 3: Day at leisure or Exeter
Enjoy a day at leisure in charming Paignton with its traditional seaside delights, level seafront and charming coastal delights.
Alternatively, why not join our optional excursion to the cathedral city of Exeter which boasts rich history, quaint cobbled streets and plenty of shops. The wonderful cathedral is the focal point of the city.

Day 4: Torbay Tour
We enjoy a tour of delightful Torbay, travelling through Babbacombe to reach Torquay – the English Riviera’s premier resort. Lying at the heart of unspoilt coastline and exotic greenery, Torquay is a lively town and home to plenty of seaside attractions and a stylish marina.

Day 5: Day at leisure
Enjoy a day at leisure in Paignton and explore at your own pace. Perhaps take a stroll along the pier, visit Paignton Zoo or simply relax on the sandy beach.
Originally a Celtic settlement, Paignton was a fishing village right up to the 19th century when the harbour was built. The arrival of the railway in 1859 brought the crowds of visitors and the town quickly became a holiday destination for the Victorians.

Day 6: Day at leisure or Dartmouth and Salcombe
Relax in Paignton, or join our optional excursion to seafaring Dartmouth and Salcombe, one of the prettiest towns in South Devon and located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town of Salcombe is lined with boutiques, shops and independent producers, as well as local art galleries and gift shops.

Day 7: Dawlish, Teignmouth and Babbacombe Model Village
We enjoy a trip to Georgian Teignmouth, which is a traditional seaside resort with a classic Victorian pier, before visiting pretty Dawlish with its wonderful golden sand beach.
We then head to the popular attraction, Babbacombe Model Village. Marvel at the miniature creations that capture the imagination, and a healthy dose of British humour really brings the village to life.

You will stay for seven nights at a carefully selected hotel on the English Riviera.
Boasting fantastic views over nearby Paignton Beach, the Esplanade Hotel is located in a prime position and is the perfect base for a seaside holiday on the English Riviera. The town centre is just a five-minute walk away, whilst Paignton Pier and quieter Goodrington Beach are within walking distance. Enjoy delicious meals in the modern restaurant which operates a wide and varied menu, and relax in the stylish and comfortable Harbour Bay Lounge in the evening, which boasts superb views. If you have energy to spare, there’s live entertainment in the Riviera Suite during the holiday season, so you can soak up the social atmosphere with other guests.
