Following breakfast, we head off to the 'City of Dreaming Spires', Oxford. Home to Britain's oldest university, this city is a fascinating place to explore, including museums, libraries and gardens. TV fans will see familiar sights as Oxford has often featured in films and dramas over the years, including Inspector Morse and Harry Potter. You can even hop onto a relaxing punt down the River Cherwell and discover the inspiration behind Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.
Today, we travel to the coast and the compact maritime city of Portsmouth. This historic place is home to world-class attractions and is the UK's only island city. Attractions around the city are generally close together and its flatness makes for easy walking. The highlights include Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, The Mary Rose, Gunwharf Quays and the unbelievable views from the top of Spinnaker Tower.
Another fabulous day awaits as we visit the Royal Borough of Windsor. We have included a splendid leisurely cruise with French Brothers on the River Thames taking in some fabulous sights from the river including the famous Castle, the final resting place of Queen Elizabeth II. You will have plenty of time to explore at your own pace and enjoy the Royal heritage of this fascinating town.
