Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to Devon and Barnstaple for a four-night stay.
Nestled in a Devon valley, RHS Garden Rosemoor blends formal and informal plantings to magical effect. Explore the rose gardens, the long borders, the exotic gardens, and all the seasonal delights at this stunning garden run by the Royal Horticultural Society.
This afternoon, we continue to Bideford, a pretty port town on the River Torridge. Here, there are many antique shops scattered amongst the narrow backstreets and alleyways that lead up from the quay and the river.
This morning, we will visit Lynton and Lynmouth and then enjoy an afternoon at leisure. These picturesque twin towns are located on the rugged Exmoor coastline, with bustling Lynmouth on the shore and clifftop Lynton offering superb views. The two are connected by the Cliff Railway, the highest and steepest fully water powered Victorian railway in the world (extra charges payable locally).
Clovelly is a village like no other! This ancient fishing village clings to the 400-foot cliffside, and is famous for having no vehicles – just donkeys and sledges to help the locals make their way up and down the steep cobbled streets. Take your time and stroll leisurely down to the harbour where you'll find a pebble beach and clear waters to reward you!
On your way back up, perhaps take a break at one of the pubs for fresh local seafood or a cream tea, or you may prefer to take one of the local Land Rovers back to the top (extra charges payable locally, subject to availability).
Return home.
* Clovelly is a very steep coastal village with cobbled streets. You can book a seat on the local Land Rover at the Visitor Centre to take you down to the harbour and back up (local charges apply) and this is subject to availability.

Very nice hotel, lovely food and friendly staff. Outgoing changover was too long as a couple of coaches were over an hour late. Trips very good although we didn't think much of Bideford.

Our driver (Craig) was polite, helpful and funny. We thoroughly enjoyed his company. Staff at The Park Hotel were very good and the food was very good.
