The beautiful town of Valkenburg has been sieged and conquered throughout its history and you can learn all about this by visiting the castle remains and the underground caves.
We have included an excursion to Maastricht and take some time out to explore the network of underground passageways and vaults beneath the city where a large part of the Netherlands' art treasures were safeguarded during World War II. Cross the border into Germany to visit Aachen and its famous old town and cathedral before continuing to Monschau through the Eiffel Mountains. Monschau is a true gem nestled into the rolling hills and full of half-timbered houses.
