New Year in the Wonderful Swiss Alps

Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to northern France for an overnight stay.

We continue to our hotel, the Hotel le Relais Alpin in Les Mosses, arriving in time for dinner.

After breakfast, we make the journey to Täsch where we board the shuttle train to Zermatt. The famous Alpine village lies at the foot of the Matterhorn, one of the world’s most famous mountains. Zermatt has preserved its original character and the traditional chalets which are lit up with twinkling coloured lights, making Zermatt an idyllic picture of festivity.

After some free time, we take the cog railway to the Gornergrat to enjoy a panorama of the famous Matterhorn. In the afternoon, we take the train back to Täsch and travel by coach back to the hotel. Tonight, we enjoy a New Year's party with live entertainment.

Happy New Year! After breakfast, we drive to Montreux and board the GoldenPass panoramic train to Gstaad, enjoying the amazing scenery along the way. Gstaad is a village in the Bernese Oberland, located at 1,050m. The car-free village centre is lined with numerous exclusive shops, restaurants and hotels, and all the houses are built in chalet style, offering a truly special charm.

This afternoon, we visit the famous cheese dairy in Gruyeres. In addition to a small sample of the cheese, during an audio guide tour you will learn about the production of this famous Swiss cheese.

We leave our hotel today and descend to the shores of Lake Geneva where we visit the Birthplace of the Natural Mineral Water, Evian. We will then continue to Montreux, which is nestled in a sheltered bay, surrounded by snow-covered Alps.
