After breakfast, we visit the historic city of Chester. The city is one of the most visited in the UK and you have the unique ability to walk in the footsteps of Roman Legionnaires, Viking raiders, Norman invaders and Anglo Saxons. The cathedral is over 1,000 years old, and the 700-year-old streets are lined with a range of shops. With so much to take in, you’ll have plenty of free time to explore and soak up the atmosphere.
You’ll also get to see Chester from a unique perspective with our fantastic boat cruise. Meandering along the River Dee, sit back and admire the views of riverside homes and gardens, with a commentary detailing Chester’s rich Roman, medieval, and industrial history.
A place where joy, refinement and a connection with nature coexist, Carden Park’s 1000-acre estate is the ultimate expression of escapism. It is home to two championship golf courses, which offer a challenging and rewarding game for golf enthusiasts of all skill levels.

This morning, we drive through some of Cheshire's prettiest villages with a stop in Nantwich. This beautiful historic Market town dates from medieval times and is famous for salt producing. The salt was extracted from natural brine springs that run through the town. There are many beautiful Tudor black and white buildings, including Churche’s Mansion built in 1577 and 46 High Street built in 1584.
Nantwich is great for shoppers and has over 100 shops, many of which are unique, including clothing boutiques and local renowned food retailers, and the indoor and outdoor market is open every Thursday. Those who enjoy walking can take a picturesque stroll along the River Weaver or canal.
This afternoon, we return to the hotel to have more time to unwind and take advantage of the superb facilities.
