Discover its beauty, and maybe even the world-famous Nessie, on this fantastic short break, also visiting the mysterious Black Isle and bustling Inverness, the ‘capital’ of the Highlands. Day 1:
Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to the Highland Hotel, Strathpeffer for four nights.

Day 2: Inverness and Loch Ness
Enjoy a delightful tour of legendary Loch Ness, travelling to Fort Augustus at the southern tip of the loch and continuing on past the dramatic ruins of Urquhart Castle. Be sure to have your camera ready as we pass the lock in case you spot Nessie!
We round the day off with a visit to Inverness - the 'capital' of the Highlands - a vibrant, bustling, modern city at the top of the Great Glen.

Day 3: Day at leisure or Ullapool
Enjoy a day at leisure in Strathpeffer - a former health resort, the Pump Room has recently been restored and the Highland Museum of Childhood at the Victorian train station looks at the experiences of growing up in the Highlands and is a great way to explore more about the local history and traditions of this wonderful region.
Or, why not join our optional excursion to Ullapool, a quaint port on the shores of Loch Broom with white-washed cottages and a pretty harbour.

Day 4: Black Isle
The Black Isle is where we’re off to today, a rather special and mysterious corner of Scotland. A peninsula, surrounded on three sides by expanses of water, is home to charming towns and villages, a pod of resident bottlenose dolphins and ancient history.
We call at Fortrose, which overlooks the Moray Firth and historical Cromarty, the Highlands’ best-preserved town.

You will stay for four nights at the Highland Hotel, located in Strathpeffer.
Nestled in a beautiful green glen in the spa town of Strathpeffer, the Highland Hotel offers guests a very warm welcome and an authentic Scottish experience. Find stunning original features throughout the hotel, including beautiful ceilings, ancient beams and traditional wood panelling which add to the relaxed and cosy atmosphere, and outside, guests can enjoy the pretty gardens. The on-site restaurant has the feel of a traditional Scottish hunting lodge and it’s the perfect place to taste local cuisine, or simply unwind with a drink in the evening. There are a number of great walking trails starting in the area and the Victorian spa village of Strathpeffer is right on the doorstep.
