Calling all fans of fantastic scenery – this short Scottish break is for you! From our base on the shores of picturesque Loch Lomond, we’ll enjoy a scenic drive through the Trossachs National Park to reach the historic city of Stirling. With an included cruise on Loch Lomond and a visit to the beautiful harbour town of Oban, this tour is a true treat for the eyes!

5 Day Itinerary

  • Day 1:

    Local departure by coach or Home Connect service and then on to Tarbet and the Tarbet Hotel on the shores of Loch Lomond or the Claymore Hotel in Arrochar for a four-night stay.

  • Day 2: Stirling and The Trossachs National Park

    Today we travel through the Trossachs National Park to reach the magnificent city of Stirling. Dominated by the splendid castle and National Wallace Monument, there is so much to discover in the Old Town and Victorian arcades.

    Later in the day, we return taking a scenic trip via Callander to travel through Brig O'Turk and Dukes Pass, before calling at Aberfoyle and then following the shores of Loch Lomond back to the hotel.

  • Day 3: Loch Lomond Cruise, and afternoon at leisure or Inveraray

    This morning we take to the waters of magnificent Loch Lomond with an included cruise to soak up the scenery and beautiful surroundings of Scotland's first National Park.

    Relax at the hotel this afternoon, or why not join our optional excursion travelling over the Rest and Be Thankful Pass to reach the white-walled town of Inveraray? Whilst here you may choose to visit 19th century Inveraray Jail, one of the finest and best-preserved jail and courtroom complexes in the world.

  • Day 4: Oban

    Today we journey west towards the coast and the bustling harbour town of Oban.

    Known as the 'Gateway to the Isles', you can see many boats leaving the harbour to head out to Mull and the Hebrides. These boats often bring back with them fantastic fresh seafood, as well as connecting the people of this remote and beautiful corner of Scotland. Why not head to the Oban Chocolate Shop for a sweet treat, or the Oban Distillery for a 'wee' dram? Or, take the steep walk up to McCaig's Tower and be rewarded with wonderful views of the coast, the Island of Kerrera and the outlying isles.

You will stay for four nights at the 3-star Tarbet Hotel on the shores of Loch Lomond or the 3-star Claymore Hotel in Arrochar.

    Stay on the shores of legendary Loch Lomond, in the village of Tarbet, surrounded by forests and magnificent mountains. Splendidly set in a serene location just a five-minute walk from Tarbet Pier, the Tarbet Hotel offers a warm Scottish welcome, which is complemented by its contemporary style and superb amenities. Inside the hotel, you will find a modern reception and restaurant – both refurbished in 2018 – which offer fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. Tuck into a comforting traditional Scottish meal after a day exploring the sights, and relax in the bar during the evening and soak up the sociable atmosphere.
