Let the scenery roll past on our railway adventure, taking one of the most scenic rail journeys in Scotland. With beautiful lochs, mountains and glens on the doorstep, you will feel a world away in this idyllic part of Scotland. After you've taken to the rails, take to the water, with a cruise along the tranquil loch.

Day 1:
Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to the Tarbet Hotel, Loch Lomond for seven nights.

Day 2: Loch Lomond Cruise
Enjoy a leisurely morning, then make your way to Tarbet Pier in front of the hotel for our cruise on Loch Lomond. Sit back and relax, admire the scenery and the wildlife, and marvel at the truly beautiful loch and surrounding Trossachs National Park.

Day 3: Trossachs National Park
The stunning Trossachs await us, as we travel into the heart of Scotland's National Park. We journey over the Dukes Pass, through the village of Brig o'Turk, and call at the bustling town of Callander, before returning along Loch Lomond to Tarbet.

Day 4: Day at leisure or Glasgow
Relax at the hotel or join our optional excursion to Glasgow, bursting with culture, history, museums and superb shopping.

Day 6: West Highland Line
Our railway adventure begins with a train ride along the West Highland Line from Tarbet* to Fort William. The views are truly amazing so it is no surprise that this journey is acclaimed as one of the very best in Scotland.*Please note that access to Arrochar & Tarbet Station is not step-free. There are stairs to the platform and no ramp to access trains.

We continue our journey north, crossing into Scotland and onto Tarbet, on the shores of Loch Lomond for a five-night stay.

Day 3: Morning at leisure or Inveraray, Included afternoon Loch Lomond Cruise
Relax at the hotel this morning, or why not join our optional excursion travelling over the Rest and Be Thankful Pass to reach the white-walled town of Inveraray?
This afternoon we take to the waters of magnificent Loch Lomond, taking in the scenery and the beautiful surroundings of Scotland's first National Park.

Day 4: Glasgow
Discover vibrant Glasgow, bursting with culture, history, museums and shopping! The city is home to striking architecture, contemporary art spaces and fascinating museums, and always offers a true Scottish welcome. It's no wonder people return time and time again.

Day 6: West Highland Line and Fort William
Our railway adventure begins as we take to the tracks from Arrochar* and join the famous West Highland Line to Fort William. The views are truly amazing so it is no surprise that this journey is acclaimed as one of the very best in Scotland. From the lowlands of Loch Lomond, we cross remote Rannoch Moor and travel into the mountains of the Highlands along the way.
We will have a little free time in Fort William before we commence our return journey to Tarbet, passing through stunning Glencoe along the way.

We retrace our steps, crossing back into England and to a comfortable hotel for an overnight stay.

If travelling from the North of England, you will stay for seven nights at the Tarbet Hotel in Tarbet on the shores of Loch Lomond.
If travelling from the South of England, you will stay for five nights at the Tarbet Hotel on the shores of Loch Lomond and have comfortable overnight stays on the outbound and return journeys.
Stay on the shores of legendary Loch Lomond, in the village of Tarbet, surrounded by forests and magnificent mountains. Splendidly set in a serene location just a five-minute walk from Tarbet Pier, the Tarbet Hotel offers a warm Scottish welcome, which is complemented by its contemporary style and superb amenities. Inside the hotel, you will find a modern reception and restaurant – both refurbished in 2018 – which offer fabulous views of the surrounding countryside.
