Local departure by coach, then onto Cumbria and our hotel for four nights, the Cumbria Grand in Grange-over-Sands. Overlooking Morecambe Bay on the edge of the Lake District, our festive programme begins with pre-dinner bubbly or sherry, dinner and entertainment.
Enjoy time at leisure to explore before continuing to the pretty village of Grasmere, known as the home of William Wordsworth. Explore the village and admire the spectacular surrounding fells, visit Wordsworth’s grave, or maybe even buy some of the legendary Grasmere gingerbread.
Kendal is a historic market town situated in the valley in the banks of the River Kent. Here, you can explore the pedestrianised centre, unusual network of lanes (or Yards), the 13th-century castle and surrounding magnificent scenery. Enjoy some Christmas shopping or a hot chocolate in one of the main cafés.
This evening, Christmas dinner is served with all the trimmings, hot mince pies and live entertainment.

This morning we will head to Lake Windermere, the jewel of the Lake District. We will stop at Bowness-on-Windermere, one of the most visited destinations in the Lake District. From here, we will board our cruise and enjoy the scenery of the lake. Your cruise boat has indoor seating and serves hot drinks to enjoy while you soak up the beautiful scenery. We disembark at Ambleside, join our coach and return to the hotel .
We return home from the Lake District filled with festive cheer.
